*** ULTRA-CURE! ***

First live appearance of 2007 - 24 March - Miami, FLA

Robert Smith just confirmed that the Cure will be playing their first live performance of '07 as headliners of the Ultra Music Festival in Miami Beach.  "The Ultra Music Festival is the official closing event for the Winter Music Conference, and it’s where the nightclub industry pulls out all the stops. More than 80,000 people converge on the Bay to celebrate the very best of the best. All performers are strictly A-List material, and there’s no holding back as one world-class DJ follows another in a 12-hour long cycle of music and light."

NEW ALBUM due out 2007

No decisions on what the CD will be titled as of yet.  Suretone now has the Cure on their roster as part of a brand new, alternative-rock oriented line-up, along w/ a handful of other hot acts who will no doubt benefit from the split w/ Jordan Shur's former label, Geffen (now focusing on hip-hop).

After being pressed about the feel of the new album, Smith said he "hated bands who bigged up their new records"  but felt like they had enough good material to make a new album worthwhile.  The present line-up will be a stripped down Cure, with no keyboards and feature the eagerly anticipated return of Porl Thompson, former Cure guitar maestro.

Royal Albert Hall Concert 1.4.06

(fall tour rumours)

The Cure played what was promised to be their only show of the summer at the Royal Albert Hall (London) Saturday, 1st April 2006.  The sold-out, one off concert benefited the Teenage Cancer Trust.  If you were unable to make it to this concert, take heart - at the end of the epic 3 hour set, Robert said they'll be back later this summer!  Rumours are circulating there may even be a small UK/European tour at the end of the year!!!
